ACTCM is proud to have a vibrant and international group of students who join ACTCM. Our community of healers and students are what make ACTCM unique and the leading holistic institution in the country. Please inquire with admissions if you are interested in further connecting with our Director of Student Affairs or any of our current students and faculty.
On campus, students have access to the student-run herbal garden containing over 150 types of herbs and plants that hail from China, Japan, Korea, Europe and North and South America. Students benefit from the rare opportunity to study herbs from seedling to the flowering stages of growth year-round.
The ACTCM Clinic features a full-service herbal pharmacy that carries an extensive selection of high-quality herbs and medicines in raw, powered, and pill form and features an independent Herbal Clinic to address patients’ needs through specialized herbal prescriptions.
Essential to our student’s education is a comprehensive clinical experience. ACTCM offers one of the most extensive, diverse and integrative clinical training experiences in the country. In addition to an optional clinical internship in China, students have the opportunity to intern at ACTCM’s onsite Acupuncture & Herbal Clinic, Auricular Clinic, and several specialized clinical sites located throughout the Bay Area in public health clinics, academic medical centers, hospitals, and more.
Our faculty has been carefully selected for their vast clinical experience and knowledge of TCM, as well as for their ability to transfer this information and skill to students. The faculty consists of both Western- and Eastern-trained practitioners who have experience working in integrative medicine and holds the understanding necessary for dealing with the health problems of today’s modern society.
ACTCM strives to provide effective services to support student learning and have developed programs such as our student-mentorship program, student tutoring, weekly Brown Bag Lunch presentations, and career workshops to aid in student success both in school and in practice after graduation.
ACTCM is fortunate to be located in the Potrero Hill district, a residential neighborhood in the heart of San Francisco. With breathtaking views of both the city skyline and the Bay Bridge from its 300-foot high hill, the area offers restaurants and cafes, health food stores and a variety of shops—all within a block or tow of campus. Potrero Hill’s central location provides easy access to places of interest such as Chinatown, Union Square, Golden Gate Park, the Berkeley Botanical Gardens and the new Pacific Rim Center.
Our 20,000-square-foot campus consists of two attractive and spacious buildings located just blocks from each other. The campus houses our fully-equipped classrooms, an on-site herb garden, as well as our student kitchen and lounges, the campus store, outdoor patios, and our award-winning teaching clinic.
