Library’s FAQ

Q: How do I search for books in the library?
A: The library’s catalog search function is located here. You may search by keyword, author, title, type of material, etc. Each of the computers in the library is equipped with a desktop link directly to the catalog search function. If you need assistance with a search, just ask the library staff to help you.

Q: How many books can I check out at a time?
A: You may have a total of up to 8 items checked out to your library account. That includes books, CDs, and DVDs.

Q: What if I don’t return my books on time?
A: The library’s computer system will automatically send emails notifying you that your items are overdue. You are charged $1.00 per day, per item, up to a maximum of $10.00 per item. You will not be allowed to check out any further items until the fines are paid.

Q: My instructor has left required books in the library as reference copies. How can I access these books?
A: Reference copies of textbooks are kept in the library. If you would like to use one, just ask the librarian for the particular book you are looking for. They are available for 2-hour use, and may not be taken off-campus. When you need access to one, you will need to leave your student ID or driver’s license with the library staff.
