Priority Application Deadline 1 (Batch 1 Review) – February 15, 2021
To guarantee consideration for admission, apply by the Priority Application Deadline. Applications after this date are considered on a space-available-basis only and applications may not be able to be considered if you miss this deadline.
Final Application Deadline (4-year MSTCM and DACM programs) – June 20th, 2021
2nd Priority Application Deadline (DACM Completion Program) – July 15th, 2021
Fall 2021 Semester begins on August 26th, 2021.
We encourage you to apply by the priority deadline.
Please contact the admissions counselor of the program for details, as some of our programs may fill up prior to the final deadline.
Step 1: Complete the Online Admissions Application and Submit the Application Fee
Start your online application by clicking the spring or fall application links above. There is a non-refundable $65 application fee payable online upon submitting your application.
Step 2: Submit Your Supporting Materials
When submitting your materials, please make sure that all materials clearly state your full name. We recommend utilizing headers and page numbers (if needed) to maintain the order of your documents. Please allow 5 business days for processing. Please check your programs apply page above for the specific application requirements.
Step 3: Submit Your Official Transcripts
We require official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate academic institutions attended, regardless of whether or not you received a degree. This includes all transcripts from any institution where you have earned 7 or more units and transcripts from any schools that appear on your degree conferral transcript. Be sure to mention on your application if your transcript is listed under a different name.
All transcripts from schools outside the United States and Canada must be sent, at the applicant’s expense, to World Education Services (WES) foreign credential evaluation service. A course-by-course report* is required for all programs and will be used in lieu of the CIIS application requirement for original transcripts. CIIS accepts the WES ‘Basic’ report, but applicants may wish to complete the ‘ICAP’.
CIIS will also accept foreign credential evaluations that are in a comprehensive course-by-course format from the current members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
Minimum GPA: A GPA of 3.0 or higher in previous coursework is required. However, a GPA below 3.0 does not automatically disqualify an applicant and CIIS will consider a prospective student whose GPA is between 2.0 and 3.0. These individuals are required to submit a GPA Statement and are encouraged to contact the Office of Admissions to discuss their options.
English Language Proficiency Test Report
Applicants for whom English is not their native language are required to submit an English language proficiency score. Exceptions are made for students who have earned their Bachelor of Arts degree from English language universities. Admission to CIIS requires a minimum score for one of the following exams:
$5000 Diversity Scholarship for School Year 2021-2022
CIIS is a university deeply committed to diversity, inclusion, and advocating for social justice. The university, guided by these principles, is offering forty $5,000 Diversity Scholarships for the academic year 2020-2021. In line with our institutional mission of embracing traditions that enhance social and political liberation, these scholarships are intended to support the recruitment of a diverse student body, particularly students historically underrepresented in higher education. The deadline to apply for Fall 2021 is July 15th. For Spring 2022 applicants, the cycle will open on September 15, 2021. We will post a link at that time.
