Choosing
the Program of Study That Is Right For You
ACTCM
offers many different options for pursuing your master's degree.
Our program of study tracks enable students to know the details
of their class schedules in advance! As a result, students can plan
ahead and better manage work and life obligations. The nature of
the track system ensures that all students are guaranteed the classes
they need to take for any given quarter.
Each
track differs in the number of quarters required to complete the
master's program and the number of days per week that a student
can expect to attend classes. Those who need to complete general
science requirements may add time onto their program of study.
Choosing
a Section: Are you an Early Bird or a Night Owl?
In addition to choosing a track (full-time, ¾ time or ½
time), each student is asked to indicate his or her section preference.
Each section differs in terms of when classes are offered. Section
A features classes scheduled predominantly in the afternoons and
evenings. Section B features classes scheduled predominantly in
the mornings and afternoons. Section C features classes scheduled
predominantly in the evenings and on Saturdays for the first three
years of study (note that Section C is only available as a Spring
start and with the ¾ time track).

The Evening/Weekend
Master's schedule option (Section C) is recommended for those who
have completed the general science prerequisite courses, and who
work no more than 20-30 hours/week. Those who are interested in
Section C but who haven't completed all of ACTCM's general science
requirements are encouraged to complete those at ACTCM in the Winter
quarter (January start) or at another accredited college before
beginning the first quarter of the Master's program in the Spring.
Please contact the admissions office to discuss options for completing
the general science coursework.
Transitional
Programs of Study
Transitional programs of study are
designed for students who intend to pursue the master's full-time,
but prefer to start the program at a slower pace. These tracks are
ideal for those who have a large number of prerequisite courses
to fulfill, or for those who have work, family or life obligations
that prevent them from beginning the program at a full- time pace.
