College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) Searches for
Dean of Student Services
The Dean of Student Services is responsible for the
supervision of all facets of the student service department
at the College, including oversight of student services administration,
enhancing student life, student satisfaction and maintaining
a high retention rate, coordinating student activities and
providing career information. In addition, the Dean will oversee
international students (F-1), ADA and other student-related
legal issues. The Dean works closely with the student council
representatives. The Dean supervises staff members, including
the registrar, financial aid officer, student events coordinator,
assistant and work-study students. The Dean will create a
team-approach to the coordination of a system-wide student
services department. The Dean reports to President.
Responsibilities
Supervise
and create a team approach with the student services staff
Serve
as student advocate by providing leadership and support, and
directing college-wide activities related to student life
Oversee
all student non-academic areas and work closely with the Dean
of the MSTCM Program
Maintain
up-to-date knowledge of federal, state and local laws that
impact students and ensure that College policies, regulations,
and procedures adhere to these laws
Develop
strategic goals and assessment methods for the various areas
of student services
Establish
an environment which promotes respect of students, faculty
and staff, and recognizes creativity and excellence
Member
of Dean’s Committee, which consists of the VPAA, Dean
of Clinical Education, Dean of the MSTCM Program and the Dean
of Student Services
Member
of the President’s Council which consists of the President,
VPAA, Dean of Clinical Education, Dean of the MSTCM program,
Dean of Student Services and Director of Financial Management
Requirements: MA/MS or BA/BS with work experience
equivalent; work experience in similar area required

32 hours/week (4 days)

Admissions
Counselor, San Francisco (Potrero Hill)
Busy admissions office is seeking an experienced admissions
counselor on board. Non-profit acupuncture graduate institute
located in San Francisco city.
Job responsibility includes (not limited to following):
-
Manage inquiries through walk-in/phone calls/emails: mail
packets, enter data and maintain data base, follow up inquires,
ensure all emails/calls from prospective and admitted students
in day to day tasks

Meet and discuss the program with prospective students:
manage the admissions phone line, review transcripts, educate
students about the program
-
Manage applicants and files, collect transcripts and other
materials, follow up with applicant about the status of application,
participate in interviews
-
Participate in student outreach and off-campus event: monthly
open houses, graduate information days, health fairs, and
other community events
-
International student (option, but a plus): educate international
student about policies and procedures, issue I-20, apply for
F-1 visa, and monitor international student registrations
28-32 hours per week, salary plus benefits
